Will Ronaldo’s move herald a mass exodus of Premiership stars?!!!
TRANSFER-FEES will go through the roof this summer!
Thanks to the crazy spending of Real Madrid, every club will be upping the asking-price for their stars, WRITES GEORGE ANDREWS.
The Spanish club has smashed the transfer-record twice during the last, two weeks, and looks to continue along that road.
That will have a ‘knock-on’ effect everywhere!
Clubs know that Manchester United is looking for a replacement for Ronaldo and will have to pay an inflated price, as will Manchester City, which is being ‘bank-rolled’ by the Arabs, has billions in the bank and is willing to ‘pay through the nose’ to get its targets.
The big question: is the pendulum swinging away from the Premier League and back to Europe, with top European players now moving to Spain to play La Liga (which is, in my opinion, a better place to improve your skills and technique and tactical knowledge)?
Kaka, Ribery and Billa all look set to be members of Real Madrid’s team next season, along with Ronaldo.
That will be a ‘body-blow’ for the Premier League.
The language-barrier will always be a problem (plus, of course, the weather!).
Several, other players, who are being chased by teams in Europe, are considering their future, because their families have failed to settle in this country; so, don’t be surprised if more of the top foreign stars in the Premier League follow Ronaldo into Europe!
