Our Publications

Seniors Today is just the latest innovation to come from our group of locally-oriented publications!!!!

DURING the past, 23 years, The Gazette has created a truly LOCAL service for readers!

Quite simply (and we are not going to be overly modest about the fact), The Staffs. Gazette offers people in this area the most exciting, leisure- and recreation-orientated publication, giving its readers the ‘low-down’ on what’s happening throughout North Staffordshire, South Cheshire and the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Now, it has gone one step further by launching an exciting, new venture – Seniors Today, this country’s very first magazine dedicated to the provision of ultra-important information, services and products, plus the latest topics of interest aged fifty and over.

Easy-to-read and easy-to-carry, Seniors Today (a ‘passalong’ magazine) really does tell it how it is for readers throughout this area, and it keeps the mature reader completely up-to-date with all the latest developments which people (good and not-so-good!).

This publication (which will be coming your way soon) aims to inform people about how to tackle all the potential problems about being a senior in 21st century Britain.

Of course, it all started with The Gazette!

In addition to news articles and all the latest theatre and musical productions, concerts and charity events, you can read all the regular features (Out & About, Wedding Directory, Equestrianism, Wining and Dining, Club Scene [What's On], Home & Garden, Holidays [Blackpool, Llandudno, Rhyl, Skegness, Cornwall etc.] and Motoring).

There’s also the latest information on what’s happening in your locale (including carnivals, charity events, club cabarets, craft shows, festivals, pub-promotions, shopping-offers, sporting occasions) – all on-screen (just for you!).

Originally launched in 1986, this FREE, full-colour, tabloid newspaper (circulating on a monthly basis) specialises in the promotion of entertainment venues, holiday destinations and businesses of every sort (from accountants and solicitors to veterinary practitioners; from beauty and tanning salons to nursing and residential homes; and from fashion shops to MoT Test Centres!).

The Staffs. Gazette also publishes regular features on charitable organisations, such as the City Dogs’ Home, County Air Ambulance, National Pets’ Week, Red Cross, Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, Samaritans and St. John Ambulance.

Readers can find out what’s happening locally, when it comes to live music (pop, rock, folk, jazz, Soul, jazz, classical, opera – and, of course, ‘across the board’ [plus perennially-popular karaoke-sessions]), nightclubs, discos, film, drama and even health and fitness).

Also, each month, we include ‘Ando’s World of Sport’, in which popular, well-known sound-journalist, George Andrews, gives us his ultra-informed views on what is happening (both locally and nationally) in not only football, but also cricket, rugby, tennis and speedway (another one of George’s particular passions).

As you can appreciate, The Staffs. Gazette has ‘carved out’ a nonpareil niche by offering licensees, restaurateurs, hoteliers and off-licence proprietors and franchisees the most effective way of promoting their services and facilities to members of the general public.

BUT THERE’S MORE, SINCE OUR WEBSITE – www.staffsgazette.co.uk – ENABLES READERS TO PERUSE EACH AND EVERY CURRENT ARTICLE (IN ADDITION TO LOTS WHICH HAVEN’T APPEARED YET!).

Needless to say, this brand-new service perfectly complements Staffordshire’s premier ‘buy-and-sell’ website: www.buynsellstaffs.co.uk

Seniors Today is just the latest venture to be launched by Tony Heath, who, over a period of 23 years, has helmed a stream of locally-oriented publications (both in A3 [tabloid] and A4 format), publicising all that is best about local life throughout neighbouring North Staffordshire and South Cheshire, with the focus on neighbourhoods, such as Burslem, Chesterton, Fenton, Hartshill, Kidsgrove, Longton, Meir, Stoke, Tunstall and Wolstanton.

At the same time, Tony’s publishing enterprise produces another, regular series of ‘glossy’ A4 newsletters for branches of the CIU (Club and Institute Union), most prominently our local one: the North Staffordshire, South Cheshire and North Wales Branch.

Additionally, we issue our Longton Traders’ Directory, which provides local people with an invaluable guide to retailing and manufacturing businesses, located within the southern part of the City of Stoke-on-Trent.
